This course is designed for anyone who wants to experience rock climbing outdoors. Thrifty Adventures does have gear for smaller children! No experience is necessary. During this course you will learn basic knots, climbing techniques, safety practices and checks, as well as climbing terms and lingo needed for proper communication between climber and belayer. Then you will have the opportunity to climb until your arms “turn to jello” ????
Please bring the following items with you for this class:
- Proper foot wear, keep in mind you will be hiking to climbing locations
- FYI - snug fitting running shoes work well for beginner climbing
- A good attitude and sense of adventure
Who is this for? Anyone with a good sense of adventure. No prior experience needed. Ages 5 and up.
Dates: offered various weekends and every Tuesday in Pisgah National forest from the end of March through November. Private dates and groups can be booked year-round.
Cost: weekend rate is $95 or weekday rate $85.
**Private dates available as well for full and half days.

** This course requires a minimum of 4 guests, if the class minimum is not met, you are welcome to reschedule or accept price increase based on number of participants signed up for the course.
